Great adventures on a bootlace.
Webcams from our favorite destinations!
Yosemite
National Park a new destination for us in December of 2009.
We flew from Detroit, Michigan to Sacramento, California then took
Amtrak down the San Joaquin Valley to Merced. From Merced we
had a leisurely bus ride on YARTS to the Yosemite Lodge at the Falls
where we spent four days. On our second day we received over a
foot of new snow!
Glacier National Park
has been our number one travel destination. Living in Ohio makes this
a major trip and yet we have driven out and back on $350.00 in gasoline.
Grand Teton National
Park was a quick two day stop for us on our way to Philipsburg, Montana
to wash gravel in order to find sapphires.
Yellowstone National
Park was another two day stop also on our way to Philipsburg. We
were very much the tourists while here and did a whirlwind tour. We
need to go back.
Virgin Islands National Park
made our year in 2008. A late April excursion cured us of the winter
blues that still had a foothold on us. We had such a good stay that we
are going back this year.
Indiana Dunes
National Lakeshore was another weekend getaway for us. It's an
easy drive for us from Ohio and the South Shore Line train stops there on
its run from South Bend Indiana to Chicago, Illinois. There is even a
dog friendly beach there! |
